Microlight Flight Training in France - great weather - private airfield

Local Accommodation Available - On Site Camping FREE to Students

GSA are now in their 8th summer training people to fly in France.
Flying courses, subject to availability, taking bookings now.

St. Secondin airfield
St. Secondin airfield has two long flat runways in the midst of open country side. The hanger and clubhouse can be seen in the distance.
St Secondin, near Poitiers is owned by GS Aviation and is ideal for training as this region has the second best sunshine rate in France - second only to the 'Cote D'Azur! Based 17 nm SSE of Poitiers and just 50/60 miles from La Rochelle with its beaches. The airfield has two runways one 900mtrs, one 700mtrs, a large hanger, new club house and ample outside parking (suitable for visiting aircraft!) The airfield is conveniently situated just two miles from the village.

Its location offers ideal weather conditions for flight training. This enables students to consolidate their flying hours, and with the combination of experienced instructors and good weather, students can learn to fly safely and quickly.

The constantly mild weather conditions make camping on site a pleasure. We have hot showers and toilets in the hangar and students are entitled to camp for free (for non students there is a nominal €5 per night charge to cover gas and electric). There is also a furnished caravan on site competitively priced at €10 per night. Alternatively we can arrange accommodation in St Secondin village or in a British owned house in the nearby town of Gencay (15 mins drive away) - see Accommodation and Travel below.

The airfield is approx. 4.5 hours drive from the main ferry ports or you can fly using the following routes.
